Heather Stirling (Bridge of Allen) won the Helen-Holm Scottish Open Strokeplay with a 10-under par total of 215, four strokes in front of Becky Brewerton (Abergele). Read Colin Farquharson's report or look at the SLGA Website

Fife won the Cuthbertson Cup (East of Scotland Junior Inter-County Championship) at Uphall on Saturday. They beat Midlothian in the final. More news soon!


April 26, 2002 Kahuku, Hawaii -
Tulsa Men Capture First WAC Golf Championship
Sophomore David Inglis won his second straight conference individual title while leading the Golden Hurricane to the school's first WAC crown.
The Tulsa golfers captured the school's first Western Athletic Conference Championship in men's golf at the Turtle Bay Resort Golf Club on Friday. The Hurricane held on for a five-stroke victory after carding a final round three-over par 291. Tulsa finished with a 16-under par 848 score for the three-day event. The Hurricane led from start to finish as did individual medallist David Inglis. The Tulsa sophomore won his second straight WAC title, this time by 10 strokes. He carded a final round 69 for a three-day total of 18-under 198. The closest anyone could get to Inglis was SMU's Ryan Abbate, who scored a final round 67 for an eight-under par total of 208. Drew Hawley of UTEP placed third with a 211 score. With the victory, Inglis won his third career tournament. He was also named to the all-WAC first team for the second straight year.

April 25/26, 2002 Kahuku, Hawaii
The Tulsa men's golf team continues to lead after two rounds at the Western Athletic Conference Championships at the Turtle Bay Resort Golf Club. The Hurricane scored an eight-under par 280 on Thursday and enters tomorrow's final round with a 19-under par 557 score. Tulsa has a 15-stroke lead over league favorite and 14th-ranked Fresno State, who sits in second-place with a four-under par 572.

Individually, Hurricane sophomore David Inglis, the defending WAC individual medallist, remains in first-place with an astounding 15-under par score of 129. He carded a six-under par 66 today, and has a 12-stroke lead in the individual race. Tulsa's Billy Lowry carded an even-par 72 and sits in a second-place tie with SMU's Ryan Abbate. Lowry and Abbate have three-under par scores of 141.

April 25: Kahuku, Hawaii
Tulsa Men Take the First Round Lead at WAC Golf Championships with an 11-under par 277 for a six stroke lead.
Sophomore David Inglis, the defending WAC individual medallist, carded a nine-under par 63 to take a four-stroke lead into Thursday's second round. Inglis carded a 30 on the front nine, and 33 on the back side.

April 25

Cal Ties for Third for Best Finish at Pac-10 Championship The Golden Bears carded a 301 in the final round with junior Vikki Laing leading the way with an even-par 72. Laing, who finished fourth at 2001 Pac-10s, led Cal for the second-straight year by finishing eighth with a score of 225.
Arizona State's Jimin Kang started the day five strokes back and tied for fourth but shot a two-under-par 70 in the final round to win the tournament by one stroke. Kang finished with a 216, holding off Arizona's Lorena Ochoa (217), the nation's top golfer and the defending Pac-10 champion. USC's Mikaela Parmlid took third at 218. Next up for Cal is a NCAA regional, May 9-11. The Bears will likely be sent to the Western Regional at Stanford.

Lynn Kenny (Stirling) won the Scottish Universities Women's Championship at Musselburgh Golf club with a four under par 146 (74,72). Elaine Cuthill (Strathclyde) was runner up (71,78). Stirling (Lynn Kenny and Cara Gruber 300) won the team event, nine shots ahead of Strathclyde (Elaine Cuthill and Ruth Rankin 309) Click here for full results

CAL drops to 5th in the PAC10 Championships at Walla Walla (what a great name!)
Vikki Laing is is tied for 13th with 75,78-153 and Anne is a shot behind, tied 17th with 75,79=154
Tournament finishes Wednesday, but with the 8 hour time difference , this site won't pick up the results until Thursday morning. Check the live leaderboard if you are desperate to know how they are getting on!

April 23

Anne Walker and Vikki Laing are both lying joint 10th with 3 over 75s, 4 shots behind the leader Yvonne Choe (UCLA) after the first round of the Pac10 Championships at the Walla Walla Country Club, WA. The tournament finishes on Wednesday. There's a live leaderboard

USF placed second to Pepperdine in West Coast Conference, Susannah Laing takes fourth place individually and makes WCC 1st team, Lyndsey Devenish gets Honorable mention.

Laura Aitken (Falkirk Tryst) wins the scratch prize with a creditable 79 over this tricky 9 hole course (CSS 73). Arlene McGarty (Bathgate) has a remarkable net 57 to win the Bronze prize.
