KATIE KEEPS ABERDEENSHIRE GIRLS' TITLE
Caroline Henderson (Cruden Bay) and Katie Thomson (Kintore)
KATIE Thomson (Kintore) retained the Aberdeenshire girls' championship
when she beat Caroline Henderson (Cruden Bay) by 3 and 1 in the final,
played in intermittent rain, latterly very heavy indeed, at Oldmeldrum
Golf Club.
It was a repeat of last year's final in which Katie won at the 19th and
it was the third year in a row that Caroline had lost in the final.
In the morning semi-finals, Katie Thomson had won by one hole over Sjavon
Wilson (Murcar), who went out of bounds with with her drive at the 18th,
and Caroline Thomson had beat Sara Thomson (Murcar) by 3 and 1.
The handicap final saw the Murray sisters from Alford cross swords. Laura,
handicap 13, beat Karen, handicap 26, by 4 and 3.
