SCOT PAM WINS IRISH SENIORS TITLE

Pam WilliamsonSCOTTISH senior women's amateur golf champion Pam Williamson from Edinburgh has added the Irish senior women's title to her collection with a four-stroke victory at Co Louth Golf Club.
Last year, Baberton member Pam was pipped for the title by Mary McKenna after they had tied with the same 36-hole total but the Irish player had the better second round.
Miss McKenna had to pull out with an ankle injury on Monday and that left the way clear for Pam, one of the Scottish Ladies Golfing Association international team selectors, to go one better with rounds of 78 and 78 for an aggregate of 157, seven over par.
Mrs Williamson won by four strokes from Canadian Diane Williams who had scores of 78 and 83 for 161.
Pam won the Scottish senior women's title for a second time at Crail only last week after flying back to Scotland from finishing joint fifth in the Canadian senior women's open championship.
Earlier in the year, Pam finished runner-up in the Dutch senior women's open after leading by a double-figure margin with one round to play and then going down at the fifth hole of a play-off.
Elizabeth Simpson (Murrayfield) finished a creditable 17th on 172 with scores of 84 and 88.
Clubmate Elizabeth Rose had rounds of 101 and 87 for 188.
