PAM WILLIAMSON SHARES IRISH LEAD
AFTER MARY McKENNA WITHDRAWS
DEFENDING champion Mary McKenna (Donabate) withdrew from the Irish senior
women's open amateur championship on the opening day at County Louth.
Pam Williamson from Baberton, pipped for the title by Mary 12 months ago
on a card countback shared the lead with Canadian Diane Williams (Canyon
Meadows at the end of the first round.
Both shot 78, three over par for the women's course.
Mrs Williamson won the Scottish senior women's championship at Crail last
week after finishing fifth in the Candian senior women's open championship.
