THE Ireland team for the women's home amateur international matches at The Berkshire Golf Club from August 21 to 23 was announced at the conclusion of the AIB Irish women's provincial championship on Friday. It is:
ALISON COFFEY (Warrenpoint)
MARTINA GILLEN (Beaverstown)
SINEAD KEANE (Curragh)
TRICIA MANGAN (Ennis)
DARRAGH McGOWAN (Ballybofey & Stranorlar)
HEATHER NOLAN (Shannon)
EILEEN ROSE POWER (Kilkenny)
MARIAN RIORDAN (Tipperary & Ballykisteen)
Captain:
MARY McKENNA (Donabate)
Manager:
SHEENA O'BRIEN KENNEY(Grange)
Reserves:
1 CLAIRE COUGHLAN (Cork)
2 MARIA DUNNE (Skerries)
3 KAREN DELANEY (Carlow)
There are three players new to the home internationals' stage in Darragh McGowan, Heather Nolan and Marian Riordan. Heather Nolan was beaten in the final of the Irish girls' championship last year.
Tricia Mangan last played in the Irish home internationals team in 2000.
The four players who have dropped out since the 2001 internationals at Carlow are Yvonne Cassidy, Claire Coughlan, Elaine Dowdall and Hazel Kavanagh.
The omission of Miss Coughlan is a surprise. She was a member of the Ladies Golf Union Elite Squad for 2001-2002 and was beaten finalist in last year's Irish women's championship.

IRISH SQUAD FOR BRITISH STROKE-PLAY
Carlow teenage sisters Tara and Karen Delaney have been rewarded for qualifying for the match-play stages of the British girls' open championship by being named in the squad of four players whose scores will count for Ireland in the international team event played in conjunction with the British women's open amateur stroke-play championship at Hunstanton Golf Club from September 11 to 13:
ALISON COFFEY (Warrenpoint).
MAURA MORRIN (Curragh).
TARA DELANEY (Carlow).
KAREN DELANEY (Carlow).
