CLARE Queen was the soft-drink toast of the Scotland camp after she won a thrilling match at the 21st to earn her team-mates a place in the semi-finals of the European junior women's team golf championship at Moscow Golf and Country Club, Russia.
With the Italy-Scotland quarter-final tie deadlocked at 3-3, everything hinged on the result of the final singles in which Claire Queen, the British girls double champion from last season and again Lanarkshire women's county title-winner this year, played Federica Piovana.
It went to three extra holes and Clare again showed her terrific tenacity as a match-player to win at the 21st.
The morning foursomes had been shared 1-1 with Vikki and Suzi Laing winning the top tie but Clare Queen and Louise Kenney finishing well down in the second.
In the sigles, Vikki Laing got the Scots off to a great start with a 6 and 5 win over Monica Quartana and then Pam Feggans, playing at No 2 in the line-up, came good with a 3 and 2 win over Margherita Rigon.
That put Scotland ahead 3-1 but then the Italians began a revival. Suzi Laing lost by 6 and 5 to Barbara Vianello and Louise Kenney went down by 3 and 2 to former British girls open champion Tullia Calzavara.
Then came Clare Queen to save the day for Scotland who now play leading qualifiers Germany (5-1 winners over Switzerland) in the first semi-final.
The second tie features Sweden, 4-3 conquerors of England, against Spain who thrashed Russia 6-1.
