ENGLISH LADIES' GOLF ASSOCIATION
ENGLAND TEAM ANNOUNCED FOR THE
EUROPEAN GIRLS TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The England Team of four for the European Girls Team Championship
which takes place at Torino Golf Club, Italy from 9 - 13 July 2002 has
been named as follows:
Captain Pat Skelton
Players Claire Aitken (Mid Kent)
Jo Corkish (Frilford Heath)
Natalie Haywood (Rotherham)
Roseann Youngman (Oundle)
1st reserve: Melissa Reid (Chevin)
2nd reserve: Alex Marshall (North Foreland)
Natalie Haywood & Roseann Youngman are both in the England Under 18
Elite squad and were members of the England Under 18 Team which
competed in a quadrangular match in Rome in April against Italy, Spain
& Sweden. Natalie was the runner up in the Faldo Junior Series in
2001. Jo Corkish has spent the winter in South Africa, she qualified
12th at the South African Open Championship, losing in the second
round to Tanica Van As, the leading qualifier. She is a member at
Frilford Heath in Oxfordshire and has a handicap of 1. Claire Aitken
is a member of the England Under 16 squad and recently played for the
England Team that lost on a count back to Austria at the SLGA Under 16
Championship at Drumoig.
