KIRSTY AND ANNE DO WELL FOR LANCS
ANGLO-Scot Kirsty Fisher (well, her father and grandfather were both capped
for Scotland at rugby and both as hookers) and full-blown Scot Anne Lowe
both figured prominently in Lancashire's 7-2 win over Glamorgan on the
second day of the English women's county championship finals at Moseley
Golf Club.
Kirsty teamed up with former British champion and retired Curtis Cup player
Kim Andrew to beat the Welsh international pairing of Anna Highgate and
Kate Phillips by 5 and 3 in the top foursome.
Anne Lowe, one of the few lady golfers around who can claim to have shot
for Great Britain, and Karen Heywood won the second foursome 2 and 1 as
Lancashire ended the morning session 3-0 up on the Welsh county.
Kirsty then had an excellent win in the top singles, beating Curtis Cup
player Sarah Jones on the 18th green.
Anne Lowe won her singles by 2 and 1 over Lucy Gould.
Leicestershire & Rutland remain favourites to take the title after recording
their second win in two days. They edged a 5-4 win over Kent.
