Aberdeenshire in the lead

Aberdeenshire are the only team with a 100 per cent record at the end of two days' play in the North Division women's inter-county team golf championship at Glenisla, Alyth.
Shire followed up a 5-4 win over defending champions Northern Counties on Saturday with a 6-3 win against Angus.
Northern Counties bounced back from their first-day disappointment to score a 7-2 win over Perth & Kinross who had beaten Angus 5-4 in the opening match on Saturday.
Aberdeenshire took a stranglehold on the outcome of their match against Angus yesterday (Sun) by make a clean sweep of the three foursomes.
Sheena Wood, Christine Middleton and Jill Harrison were the Aberdeenshire winners in the singles which were shared 3-3.
Northern Counties led 2-1 after the foursomes against Perth & Kinross and then took control of the singles, winning them by a 5-1 margin with wins by Liz McKinnon, Cara Gruber, Pat McLennan, Jenny Milne and teenager Sharon Main.
The championship ends on Monday with Perth & Kinross playing Aberdeenshire while Northern Counties face Angus. It looks like Aberdeenshire are going to qualify for the Scottish county finals at Portpatrick Dunskey in September ... but one never knows in county golf!
